Nordic Air, LLC

Doug is the owner and pilot of Nordic Air. A resident of Southeast Alaska since 1977, Doug earned a degree in aviation and became a licensed pilot in 1983. He has flown passengers steadily in SE Alaska since 1986. He is also a highly experienced hunter and fisherman.

Doug’s plane is a Cessna 185 with amphibious floats (retractable wheels). He regularly takes off from the Petersburg, Alaska municipal airport with passengers and gear, then setting down on water at the destination. The plane has room for three passengers, plus gear. It is also equipped with an aviation certified GPS mapping system.

Nordic Air offers custom service to move people and gear in Southeast Alaska. Passengers also experience the best way to see Alaska – by air – along with receiving the pilot’s local insight. While the options for a flight are nearly unlimited, the most frequent types of flight service requested of Nordic Air fall into three categories: Glacier tours, Commercial fishing support and Transportation to and from remote locations throughout the Tongass National Forest.
