What is a Credit Union? A credit union is a non-profit financial cooperative owned and operated by its members. Credit Unions are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are member-owners. As a cooperative each member-owner has a voice and a vote. Credit Unions return their profits to members in the form of lower fees, lower interest rate loans, and higher yields on deposits.
