Stroll down main street and stop to see the models in a variety of beautiful Norwegian sweaters modeled throughout the afternoon!
2:00 pm Muskeg Walk with Forest Service Interpreter: Meet at Visitors Center
Join Mary Clemens on an interestingly leisurely walk and learn about the unique surface that makes up the Mitkof Island ground cover.
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Silver Tea to Honor the Staff of Petersburg Medical Center: Long Term Care Solarium
The Hospital Guild invites the public to join them in honoring the staff of Petersburg Medical Center for their dedication & service.

Artist Reception "Through the Forest" by Don Cornelious original artwork. Stop by and check out the local talent.
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm $ Norwegian Dinner: Moose Lodge Family Center
Stop by the Moose Lodge Family Center and have a fantastic Norwegian dinner including fish cakes with white gravy, norwegian meatalls with brown gravy, cucumber salad and dessert.
6:00 pm Norske Softball Tournament: Ball Field
Cheer on your favorite local team as they take on teams from around Southeast Alaska. Games will be happening all weekend so check out the tournament brackets on the side of the concessions stand building to find the up-to-date schedule.
7:00 pm Beachcomber Inn with the Pickled Herring Band
Come earlier and have dinner at this historic cannery site, and then enjoy the sounds of the Pickled Herring Band, back by popular demand for the Festival!

Sons of Norway Hall
An annual sellout! Get in line early to watch and listen to the wonderful display of traditional Norwegian Bunader, all while enjoying a lovely Petersburg lunch.
12:00 pm - 6:00 pm $ Beer Garden: Sponsored by Harbor Bar.
Located in the parking lot at the corner on Excel & Main Street. Relax and enjoy a cold one while taking in the festival sights and sounds.
2:30 pm - 6:00 pm Darlene Whitethorn's Retirement Party
Uff da! The public is cordially invited to attend the retirement party of Magistrate Darlene Whitethorn at the ANB/ANS Hall. In true Viking format, Darlene will sail off into the Petersburg sunset in her faering after 27 years of service to the State of Alaska. Come join us as we way goodbye with cake & punch and honor one of Petersburg's own dannekvinde.

Those Vikings and Valkyries are tricky! You never know when they might haul you off to jail, so watch out!!! Stop by, visit the prisoners & get your own Viking T-Shirt!
3:45 pm Parade Line Up: Bottom of PFI Hill
4:00 pm The Annual Festival Parade: Main Street.
Look up as the Temsco Helicopter kicks off the parade by passing through the Narrows with the USA & Norwegian Flags. Cheer on the participants and join in the celebration by bringing your f lags to wave!
4:30 pm The Annual Sil (Herring) Toss: Main Street.
Immediately following the Parade, both youth and adults line up to see how far partners can toss the favorite lil Norse fisk!
5:00 pm Air Force Band of the Pacific - Greatlanders Jazz Band: Fisherman's Memorial Park
The Air Force Band of the Pacific - Greatlanders Jazz Band will present concerts throughout the 2011 Little Norway Festival! All events are free of charge & open to the public. Put on your dancing shoes & enjoy the fantastic music! If it's raining join us at the Community Gym.
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Miele Gallery & Framing Presents Pia Reilly's
Stop by Miele Gallery & Framing for an artist reception featuring new pieces by local artist Pia Reilly. The show will be up to view all weekend but this is your chance to meet the artist!

The festival committee along with Petersburg Indian Association & the Vikings are in partnership with Fish & Game this year for this popluar event! Young anglers will have a chance to learn about catch & release or to hook a fish dinner. There's no charge, just remember your life jacket!! Registration starts at 9:30am.
10:00 am - 1:00 pm $ Kaffe Hus: Sons of Norway Hall
Relax and visit while sampling traditional Norwegian foods. A great stop for authentic pastries, open faced sandwiches, cookies and coffee; all in a casual atmosphere.
10:00 am - 12 noon USCGC Anacapa & USCGC Elderberry Open House: Coast Guard Dock
With over 50 years of dedicated service the USCG proudly invites everyone to tour the USCG cutters Anacapa & Elderberry!
11:00 am $ WOTM Beer Bits to Go: Moose Lodge
Thanks to the Women of the Moose, here’s your chance to enjoy that Petersburg Specialty – Halibut Beer Bits! Come early as this local favorite sells out fast.
12 noon Wooden Boat Regatta & Boatshow: Harbor Master's Dock
The South Kupreanof Yacht Club is challenging anyone to a rowboat race at noon. Boats must be wooden and hand powered. Any size or crew capacity is acceptable. Participants meet at 11:45 at the North Harbor, bottom of the ramp. Race will begin at the Petersburg Fisheries pier, circumnavigate the green buoy #59 and return. These fine handcrafted vessels will then be on display in the North Harbor until 3pm.

2:00 pm - 2:30 pm Coast Guard Helicopter Search & Rescue Demo: Coast Guard Dock
The USCG will host a demo showing the technology and capabilities of their helicopters used for search & rescue missions. Stop by to see how it all works & thank our servicemen & women.
2:00 pm Pickled Herring Band Music: High School Gym
Enjoy the toe tapping variety of authentic accordion music and join in the fun of true Scandinavian style as we warm up for the pageant.
3:00 pm Little Norway Festival Pageant: High School Gym
Enjoy Petersburg’s rich multi-ethnic heritage through music, drawings, award presentations and the featured “Festival Dancers.”
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Air Force Band of the Pacific Music: High School Gym
The Pageant is over but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop! Enjoy the music from the Air Force Band of the Pacific and Greatlanders Jazz Band before heading off to the next exciting event.
4:30 pm - 7:30 pm $ All You Can Eat Shrimp Feed: PFI Cookhouse
Hosted and served up by the PHS Basketball Teams. You are invited to pick and eat as much as you can of this Petersburg delicacy. Get your ticket early so that you don't miss out on this annual favorite. See a Basketball player or Viking Travel for your ticket.
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm Synnove and Solfred live in Concernt: Wright Auditorium
Set aside time to be at this event! Sonova & Solfred are starting their United States tour in Petersburg! Join these Norwegian artists and enjoy a night of music.
8:00 pm $ The Annual Festival Dance: Downstairs Elks Lodge
Haven't had enough, yet? Here's another chance to enjoy the Pickled Herring Band from northwest Washington! Schottisches, polkas, waltzes, foxtrot, swing and more along with familiar melodies with one generation and create new memories for another. Remember, standard house rules apply so plan in advance. Skoal!

(Credit cards accepted)  Enjoy the ultimate meal of grilled salmon, halibut & black cod with the works on the side while visiting with friends, old and new.  This annual picnic truly promotes the Alaskan Spirit!  This is also your last chance to hear the Pickled Herring Band and find out who won those Alaska Airlines tickets or the cash!
